Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman said this in the frames of the V Kabinetakh TV show on the 5 Channel on Sunday.
"A deputy must be protected by his mandate when he/she has political principles, when he/she votes the way he/she considers appropriate, when he/she protects his/her position, ideas, opinion," he said.
Groysman noted that the mandate should not protect a deputy involved in crimes.
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada also drew attention to the necessity for creation of a high-quality state service. "Let's decide to eventually have professional officials, who do their business well and receive good salaries, instead of having laymen, who do not want to do anything," he said.
"I choose to have responsible professional officials with good fair salaries," the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada added.
